9/11 Remembrance Exhibit
It was a chance meeting when we walked in the Scottsdale Center of Performing Arts and asked a member of Scottsdale Fire Department if she needed help measuring the space. Those few moments opened an opportunity that continues to grow. The design is centered around 2,996 individual cards made for each of the victims. The 2010 design consisted of solid panels stood vertical with the cards pinned to the boards setup in rows. Our idea was to visually open up the exhibit with a level of transparency to convey the number of people affected by the tragedy. Rather than seeing a hundred of the cards at one time we wanted the viewer to see all of the cards and feel the overwhelming effect of how many people lost their lives on that day. Together Aline and Scottsdale Fire Department developed, built and tested the exhibit in just two weeks. Everything was a success and was a seamless, positive process that brought new people together to help create an amazing experience to share with others.
