Beckets's Table Patio
An existing restaurant located in a mid century wood bowstring truss warehouse space, the concept was derived from this historical structural system. Without over articulating the materials, the cover resulted in a series of wood vine trellis supports in the same sandwich built up manner of the bowstring trusses. With this series of vines, the roofing material choice needed to allow sunlight to bathe the vines, but also provide sun protection to the diners. The use of shingled concrete panels with translucent skylight sheeting created this protected environment, enhancing the extension of interior space.
