A boutique hotel looking to brand itself to a new demographic in midtown Phoenix asked us to look into inexpensive options for redressing the building, lobby, and guest rooms. Part of a multi-phase program, the initial steps were to address the street and light rail commuters with new curb appeal. The concept was to use four story graphic banners to give the south façade a new look, as well as simplify the mansard canopy entries with bold hues of blue. The beautiful central courtyard space was enhanced with new landscaping, furniture, and reappointed amenities. The dark lobby spaces were opened up and lighter materials chosen to make it more warm and inviting. The hotel rooms flanking the courtyard were updated with modern furnishings and lively colors, exposed concrete floors, and new fixtures to embrace the boutique feel. The future phases involve enhancing the restaurant and meeting rooms to match the overall feel of the resort.
